On July 28th, at 8pm, I had my fourth conversation partner meeting over zoom. It is starting to get more difficult to schedule conversation partner meetings since I am really busy during this last week since I have to move soon. However, I was really grateful that Mohommad was able to meet over zoom at such a late hour. We started our conversation where it ended last time about the health care system and the flaws of it in the U.S and in Saudi Arabia. I told him some of my personal experiences with long waiting times at hospitals and the lack of doctor attention. Mohammad told me how in Saudi Arabia they also have long wait times since more people use the health care system because it is public. However, there is more doctor attention. We then talked about college entrance exams. In Saudi Arabia, there are two tests that they take. One that tests problem solving skill and another that tests content learned in school. He also mentioned how the college enterence system is based on your ranking in terms of grades and that there is not a huge amount of choice when it comes to picking what university you want to go to. When entering university, in Saudi Arabia they go straight into the major, they do not have to take prerequisits. It was interesting to learn about the differenes in the health care system and the higher education system.
