Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Today, we started by discussing our favorite foods. Sanghun told me about soybean paste stew and why he loved it so much. We then took some time to write persuasive speeches about what foods we loved and why. He wrote about soybean paste stew and taught me a lot about its nutritional value and ingredients. I told him about why mac and cheese has a special place in my heart because of my childhood memories. After our speeches, we spoke a little more about the memories we have related to food. Before the end of our session, we watched a short clip from the Chef's Table on Netflix and heard how Chef Christiana Tosi was able to turn her favorite childhood foods into a popular bakery in NYC. Sanghun seems more confident in his speech as we work more on speaking exercises.
