Tutee: Soojin

Today, we continued with idioms. To begin, we watched another YouTube video. We watched a debate between people who were pro-death penalty and anti-death penalty. Afterwards, like usual, we discussed our thoughts and discussed our opinions. I think that watching videos on controversial topics is helpful because Americans in casual settings will sometimes talk about politics, and it is helpful for Soojin to be able to express her opinion effectively. After this, we worked on more idioms such as "bite the bullet," "hit the sack," and "pulling your leg." Once again, I explained that most of these idioms don't make much sense in the literal sense, but that they simply need to be memorized. That is common of most idioms in all languages, however. We decided to continue with these next session.
