My first meeting with Ahmed Zoom was on July 11th and we spoke for almost an hour! I told Ahmed quickly that his English was very good, and was surprised to hear he only had been studying English for only a year in the US. I assume he took some English lessons in his home country of Saudi Arabia. I asked Ahmed what he hopes to achieve with his English skills and he said he will actually be starting a master’s program this fall at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. I was SO excited to hear this because ERAU is in Daytona, Beach, FL which is where I am from! Ahmed was glad to hear this as well and asked me many questions about Daytona in preparation for his move.
