Ye-won session #6

Location: Zoom

Topic/Skill: Emotions

Session / Lesson I learned: During the session we first reviewed the homework. It is monsoon season so the homework was a bit redundant since it was raining majority of the time. I had given her to task to say that day it was (review from previous class) and state the weather... it was raining about 5/7 days. Luckily we had a good laugh about it. I started out by asking her if she knew about it emotions and she didn't. This was good because most of the time she has already learned or has understanding about what I teach her. I focused on each emotion mentioned in the movie Inside out and gave a short video from the movie to introduce each one of them. After each emotion we would talk about what made us feel angry, sad, happy etc. I realized that when speaking of alternatives for joy such as happy or excited it was a bit harder for her to understand. I showed picture and acted it out but have now learned I need to provide more supportive context in the teaching.
