For our 5PM-6PM, August 5, tutoring session, I helped prepare Talal for his upcoming trip to the Smokey Mountains. We had a speaking focused meeting where we discussed how to phrase different questions and responses in different scenarios he may encounter while traveling. Some of the topics we discussed were: asking where the restroom is, where the most famous attractions are, about upcoming events, wildlife, etc. We wrote down several ways to ask about the aforementioned topics and once we wrote them all down, we simulated different conversations where Talal played himself and I played another tourist or resident. Talal feels he is now very prepared for his trip and will practice the sample questions we wrote down!
