Je-won

Today I tutored Je-won for the second time. I decided to focus on teaching simple vocabulary to Je-won. I had prepared a couple of Powerpoints for us to go through. The vocabulary that I decided to go through would be basic things such as sports, weather, and body parts. Throughout the tutoring, I could see that Je-won knew some of the words such as "basketball" and was able to repeat the vocabulary back to me. Afterwards, I would point to the pictures and have him tell me what they were. He did really well at those! However, I still was having a hard time gauging what exactly he did and didn't know. He would be able to understand that I wanted him to repeat things back to me, but beyond that it was difficult for me to engage with him. I will discuss with Professor Kim about what I need to try to get him more engaged. At this stage, I don't think that he will be able to do more than learn simple vocab which is okay! Hopefully as he gets more comfortable with me we can slowly work on more advanced things.
