Naomi CO#2

On June 24th, I observed Dr. Pollock's grammar class from 10 - 10:50 am. Dr. Pollock was going through an exam that the students had previously taken. He went through each question and asked different students to answer them. Based on the student's expressions, you could see which questions were a bit more difficult than others. Throughout the review, Dr. Pollock got some very detailed questions that I would have found difficult to understand. Despite the complexity of the questions, Dr. Pollock did an amazing job answering them and asking the students if his answer was comprehensible. For the questions that he could not answer, he asked the students to email him about it and that he would try to answer them after he has given it some thought. Throughout the review, he also showed examples of different ways an answer could be written which gave the students some relief when they realized that they had still gotten the answer right. Ultimately, due to the nature of the activity, I do not think that I saw the full extent of Dr. Pollock's teaching style but I did see a good example of how to navigate difficult grammar questions.
