Feedback provided to tutee:
- helped tutee with word usage, tense, and rewording sentences/phrases to make them stronger and clearer to the reader
- asked the tutee what was wrong, then asked how he would fix it before just telling him
- explained reasoning for the different changes, especially those he questioned
Lesson(s) I learned about tutoring and/or the tutee:
- after pointing out some things in the beginning of the paper, the tutee caught on to other mistakes before I even mentioned them
- this tells me that he either is a quick learner or had not yet revised and edited his paper (or both)
- sometimes, the tutee may be confused by the question, and just re-framing the question can help, while other times they simply will not understand, so it is helpful to either walk them through it or just tell them (the response depends on the situation)
