For my July 8, 3-4PM tutoring session with Talal, we started by having a conversation about what we did during our Fourth of July weekends. Talal went to Orlando and went to a waterpark and Universal! We then did a dictation activity with a clip from Full House. I used Full House because it uses fairly comprehensible language and is also a very famous show. However, Talal did struggle a bit with this activity and it took more time than I anticipated. I think I will continue to use dictation activities in the future because listening and writing skills are very important as Talal wishes to begin school at an American university. I also found that Talal struggles with spelling so we may work on that further in the future.
