I had my first meeting with my conversation partner Suyeol this past Tuesday, July 7 at 3 pm. We discussed many topics, such as which city Suyeol is from, how long he has been living in Tallahassee and how he likes it in the U.S. Since Suyeol is from South Korea, much of our conversation focused on K-Pop and Korean dramas. Suyeol was also very interested about the time I spent living in Germany, so we spent some time talking about things such as beer, soccer and Schnitzel. A cultural difference we discussed was how generational differences are treated in our respective cultures and the different ways in which we show respect for elders. Overall, our first meeting was a very enjoyable and interesting session!
