Alice TS#4

Today I met my tutee Renata and we dedicated the session to conversational speaking. I used our time to let Renata talk about a variety of topics simulating a real life situation where she would introduce herself or just having a conversation in English with friends, professor, co-workers or clients. While we were talking, we introduced new vocabulary words and we repeated some grammar rules (difference between gerunds and infinitive - present continuous). We, also, discussed about the importance of feeling confident enough to be able to speak in English in public. Learning English is not only a matter of grammar or vocabulary, there is so much more. It is a personal battle, and with Renata I am trying to give her a space where she feels comfortable and safe, where she can practice and eventually getting ready to use her abilities in the real world!
